One of the "stories" - from old personnel file:

When farewelling a provost, the Bishop spoke about how the Provost had been such a support in teaching him in his infancy as Bishop.

He said that on one occassion the Provost had said to him that what he needed was a basket.

He was astonished and asked why.

The Provost said, for the rocks.

Bishop said: "what rocks?"

Provost said: "for all the rocks people throw at Bishops. You must put all the rocks in the basket and then, at the end of each day, you must empty them out of the window."

I thought we could all benefit from that teaching!
