They have white tails, you see... (well, some of them...)

I thought that was interesting... esp the last re young and inexperienced pigeons not marked so that no one will follow them and get lost!

Thought Christian leadership can be illustrated with that to a certain extent...

With Paul reminding Timothy in 1 Tim about qualifications for overseers - not a recent convert... With James warning people (esp teachers) to be careful as teachers will be judged more strictly... With Jesus warning people that to whom much has been given, much will be required (can't think of the passage though)... With Titus and 1 Peter on living such godly lives among unbelievers that they won't have any reason to accuse you...

Leaders have A LOT more responsibility! People follow them! That's why they need to be extra careful in exercising their leadership. Because people expect their leaders to know more than they themselves do... and because eternity is at stake in Christian life... leaders really need to be careful in exercising the responsibility that God has given/entrusted to them - both in their public lives and their private lives...
